Ultraclear™

Ultraclear™ is a series of crystal clear casting resins that are easily poured, have high physical properties, and are available in a wide range of gel times.

  • Exceptional clarity with refractive indices ranging from 1.502-1.585
  • Available in 20, 30, 50, 200, and 900 min. gel times.
  • Extremely UV resistant.
  • High physicals such as: HDT, tensile strength, and impact resistance.

Ultraclear™ can be used in a wide variety of applications that require exceptional clarity; e.g., encapsulation, optical components, part overmolding, test models, and display pieces. The wide range of gel times makes Ultraclear™ suitable for small, average sized or extremely large castings.

NOTE: These products may have a negative reaction to silicone based rubbers and release agents. Contact a Hapco representative for more information.

Notes:

1. Hardness was tested after curing @ 80°C for 16 hours. For best properties, cure @ room temperature (21-23ºC) and postcure @ 60-80ºC for 4-12 hours. HDT and flexural strength increase with a postcure.

2. Ultraclear 438, 439, 468, & 469 have been developed with a slow cure and low exotherm for large castings. Cure is mass and temperature dependent. A step cure is recommended. Overnight @ 70°F (21°C), plus 12 hours @ 122°F (50°C) and 12 hrs. @ 149°F (65°C). The step cure may be varied depending on mass and final use. Step cures may not be necessary in some applications.
