Tool-It™
Tool-It™ Aluminum LT - Self Hardening High Strength Structural Backup
- Used in fabricating prptotype and production molds
- A polymer alloy, which is cast behind Tool Cote, polymeric surfacing, or even electroformed or vapor formed nickel shells.
- Chemically solidifies to provide a high strength, heat conductive, structural backup that is suitable for prototype and many production tooling applications.
- Comes in three component, pre-proportioned kits, that are easy, safe, and convenient to use. By simply mixing the components together, a chemical reaction is initiated, which transforms the liquid slurry into a hard durable structural mass.
- May be cast alone or in conjunction with coils used in the Cast Composite Tooling Method. When used alone, masses up to 15 gallons can be poured in one cast, with minimal shrinkage. When used with the Cast Composite Tooling Method, any size mass can be cast.
Applications: Suitable for use in a wide variety of tooling applications.
Tool-It™ Aluminum HT - High Temperature Structural Backup System
- A new, very high temperature, structural backup composition, designed for molds which will be used in a high temperature environment, such as: autoclave ovens or injection and compression molds for thermoset plastics, that are heated to yield operating temperatures of up to 350°F.
Applications: Autoclave Molds, Compression Molds, Sheet Molding Compound Molds, High Temperature Thermoset Molds, High Temperature Foam Molds, Injection Molds for Engineered Thermoplastics, High Temperature High Pressure Molds, May also be used for lower temperature uses, making it a truly universal system.
